Bastrop Black Business Trust
The Bastrop Black Business Trust is a community-led effort to create affordable commercial spaces for Black-owned businesses in Bastrop County. Established by the Bastrop County Black Chamber of Commerce, the Trust promotes economic equity, empowers entrepreneurs, and strengthens the local economy through strategic real estate ownership and management.
Mission
To acquire and manage real estate in Bastrop County to provide affordable, sustainable commercial spaces for Black-owned businesses, supporting long-term growth and community wealth-building.
What the Trust Does
- Acquire and redevelop commercial property
- Lease space at below-market rates to qualified Black-owned businesses
- Partner with public and private entities for funding and development
- Reinvest proceeds into additional community-serving properties
