Vote with Purpose. Lead with Power.

Voting is more than a right — it’s a responsibility. When we show up at the ballot box, we help shape the future of our schools, our neighborhoods, our businesses, and our families. The leaders we choose have the power to make decisions that affect housing, education, healthcare, and economic opportunity in the Black community. Together we can make sure the right leaders are elected to who have a heart for our community and who will work to advance the needs of our community.

Advocacy & Representation

  • Policy Advocacy for Black Business Growth: Engage local officials on equitable contracting, zoning, and funding policies that benefit Black communities.
  • Civic Engagement Drives: Promote Black voter registration, education, and turnout in Bastrop County elections.
  • Black Business Census & Reports: Gather and publish data on the state of Black businesses in the county to inform policy and funding efforts.
  • Candidate Forums: Host public forums to allow community members to hear directly from candidates on issues affecting Black residents and businesses.
  • Candidate Endorsements: Provide endorsements for candidates who support equitable policies and Black economic development in Bastrop County.

Local elections

Many people focus on presidential elections, but local and state elections often have the greatest impact. Your city council, school board, county commissioners, and judges all influence:

  • How local schools are funded

  • Where businesses can open

  • Whether communities get infrastructure upgrades

  • Public safety policies

  • Healthcare access and more

These leaders control budgets, priorities, and policies. They need to reflect the real needs of your community.

What we Look for in a Candidate

Before we endorse or cast our vote for a candidate, we ask:

  • Does this candidate support fair economic opportunities?

  • Do they listen to and engage with all parts of the community, especially the underserved communities?

  • Have they worked for inclusive education, affordable housing, and Black business development?

  • Will they stand for justice, equity, and long-term progress?
